Naturally occuring musk is derived from animals, including from the male musk deer or civet cat. The substance from which musk is finally obtained is actually strong and unpleasant to most human noses. The substance is brown and secreted in the animal's gland, where it is processed for a long period of time (months to years!) before the final musk scent - which becomes a highly sought after ingredient of many perfumes - is obtained.
As natural musk is not that easily found for purchase, or rather really expensive, there are many variations of "musk" found in the market that are synthetically created, and others which attempt to replicate the musk scent with more natural ingredients.
Must Musk is our version, using only 100% Pure Essential Oils. It is not as heavy as the scent of natural animal musk would be, but comes with a slightly fresher note as if musk has taken a clean shower :) which we think is really a lovelier version and option in hotter, humid weathers. We also deliberately created Must Musk to be gender neutral, that is, we think both males and females will really enjoy wearing Must Musk.
Must Musk is deep, warm, slightly sweet, with a tinge of spiciness and definitely cozy - like wearing your favourite sweater that has been toastily warmed up that you want to snuggle into.
Important: Natural Perfumes made from 100% natural ingredients do not possess the longevity of synthetic perfumes that incorporate chemicals to prolong scents. Please manage your expectations accordingly before you purchase. Re-application is the common approach to using natural perfumes.
